Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge

On the Nisqually River Delta in southern Puget Sound, Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1974 for the protection of migratory birds. The Refuge contains salt and freshwater marshes, grasslands, riparian, and mixed forest habitats, which provide nesting areas for migratory waterfowl, songbirds, raptors, and wading birds. Wolf Haven International

Dedicated to the preservation of wolves and the education of the general public on the subject of wolves, Wolf Haven is a sanctuary for more than 30 wolves. During tours of the facility, you'll get to meet many of these canines, including a small pack that allows visitors to observe wolf-pack behavior in action. Throughout the summer there are Saturday night Howl-Ins that are particularly popular with families. Advance reservations are required for Howl-Ins. Hand's On Children's Museum

The Hands On Children’s Museum promotes creativity and learning through interactive programs for children and families. Museum is filled with exhibits that allow children and family members to display their artistic talents. Children can interact with one another, learning how to create crafts and structures. Capitol Museum

Guided public tours of the Washington State Legislative Building are offered seven days a week hourly between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tours are free and begin every hour on the hour and last 60 minutes. Priest Point Park

Founded by Missionaries of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, the Priest Point Park is a historic ground of rich history. Starting as a trading ground and school for neighboring Indian tribes, the Park eventually became a lush green landscape, where volunteers often come to plant trees and go green. Northwest Trek Trails

The animals of North America are the focus of Northwest Trek, a wildlife park that covers more than 600 acres near the town of Eatonville. Bison roam, elk bugle, and moose munch contentedly knee-deep in the park's lake. Visitors are driven around the grounds in a naturalist-guided tram, and at certain spots, you're allowed to get out and walk to various enclosures. Among the residents here are a grizzly bear, a wolf, cougars, lynx, and bobcats. There are also more than 5 miles of nature trails to wander after viewing the animals.
